English gangster Albert Spica has taken over the high-class restaurant Le Hollandaise. Albert makes nightly appearances at the restaurant with his retinue of thugs. His oafish behaviour causes frequent confrontations with his restaurant staff and customers.

Forced to accompany Albert is his reluctant, well-bred wife, Georgina. On one of their visits, Georgina catches the eye of a quiet regular, bookshop owner Michael. Right under her husband’s nose, Georgina carries on an affair with Michael with the help of the Le Hollandais staff.
